Who are we?

Although this website uses the Wallace & Gromit characters under licence from Aardman Animations, this website is operated by Fictioneers Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11945003 and with its registered office a Arnolfini, 16 Narrow Quay, Bristol BS1 4QA.

As Fictioneers Limited has overall control of the personal data collected through this website and how it is used, it is registered as a ‘controller’ with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under number 11945003.

What personal data do we hold about you?

The personal data that we may collect about you is currently limited to your name, email address, and postcode (optional) when you complete the form on our website.

Although this website uses Google Analytics (see below), we have configured this so that neither we nor Google can identify you when you visit our website. However, Google Analytics will provide us with information about the type of your device and its operating system, time zone, regional and language settings.

How do we handle children’s personal data?

We fully expect that children will access this website and may wish to sign up to receive emails from us and get the chance to test The Big Fix Up app when it is ready. In the UK, children under the age of 13 cannot provide consent. Instead, the person with parental responsibility for the child must give consent.

If you are younger than 13, we recommend that you get your grown-up to sign up to receive emails from us instead.

What will we use your personal data for?

We will use the personal data collected through the form on our website to provide you with the latest news and updates relating to The Big Fix Up and to invite you to test the beta version of The Big Fix Up app when it is ready, by email. We will do this based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of each email.

Who will we share your personal data with?

We will only share your personal data as necessary to send you emails that you have signed up to receive. In this context “share” does not necessarily mean that we hand over your personal data to someone else, but that they may have access to it – for example – our email marketing platform.

Where will we store your personal data?

This website is hosted by Google on servers that are based outside the European Economic Area. Google LLC has certified that it complies with the principles of the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, which means that it provides and adequate level of protection for personal data that has been transferred to it. We have also entered into a contract with Google LLC which contains clauses that have been approved by the European Commission as providing this assurance.

Our email marketing provider is Mailjet which uses hosts data on servers in Germany and Belgium.

How will we keep your personal data safe?

Our website uses an encrypted connection (look for the lock or shield in the address bar of your browser) so that no-one can read any of the data sent between your device and the server that hosts our website. We only use technical service providers that provide appropriate security measures to protect your personal data and we have a policy and procedure in place to ensure we can quickly and effectively deal with any security breaches involving your personal data.

How long will we keep your personal data for?

You can withdraw your consent to receive emails from us at any time by clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of each email. We will automatically unsubscribe you and delete your details if you have not opened any emails from us for more than 12 months.

What are your rights?

You have several rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you, including the right object to receiving emails from us, the right to request a copy of your personal data (commonly known as a ‘subject access request’) and the right to have any inaccurate or incomplete personal data about you corrected.
